Before the vacation begins or you want to find out about a destination, it is often helpful to look at the surroundings of the place in advance, either to get an impression of the weather, or simply to get to know the surroundings. With the webcam in Altefähr on Rügen, this is easily possible. Around the clock there are exciting and interesting things to discover. Starting from the new Rügen bridge to the old Rügen dam, from the impressive panorama of theUNESCO World Heritage Old Town of Stralsund with the unique OZEANEUM, the waves whipped up by the wind in the Strelasund, rocking fishing boats to cranes or sea eagles , of which there are many on the island.

Sit back and enjoy the view

In the northeast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern lies the largest island in Germany: Rügen. Its many seaside resorts, imposing chalk cliffs and miles of beaches are popular destinations for vacationers and locals alike. But also the numerous fishing villages are always worth a detour and invite you to linger and stroll. One of these tranquil villages is Altefähr, which has been recognized as a state seaside resort since 2016. The webcam is located here, more precisely right next to the Rügen Bridge. From here, it sends great real-time images for 24 hours and brings the flair of Germany's largest island directly to the monitors.
