Kamilla Levai (Budapest) will perform works by Buxtehude, Muffat and Bach on 30.7.2025, 19:00 in the Kulturkirche St. Jakobi.
On the Wegscheider organ, the young organist from Budapest Kamilla Levai performs Baroque works.
The Danish-German organist and composer Dieterich Buxtehude was a great role model for Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach walked 465 km from Arnstadt to Lübeck just to hear him. A weighty reason and of course a great pleasure to be able to play and hear both in concert.
Just as Buxtehude is the most famous representative of North German organ music, Georg Muffat is the pioneer of the "mixed taste". He knew how to incorporate Italian and French accents into the German musical style.
