Altefähr seaside resort is located in the southwest of the Island of Rügen and is one of eight seaside resorts on Germany's largest island. With an enchanting view of Stralsund, Altefähr offers experiences for anglers, sailors,hikers... with tradition and charm. Nature lovers.

In August 2016 Altefähr was decorated with the title "seaside resort". The small town on the Strelasund has already had a special significance for the Island of Rügen since the 13th century due to the ferry connection to the mainland. Already advertised in the 19th century as a seaside resort with ladies' and men's baths, Rügen's only south-facing beach presents itself with accessible bathing facilities, a children's playground and stylish sun loungers that invite you to linger.

More than 20 moorings in the sports boat harbor offer water hikers a good opportunity for a stopover on the Strelasund and an impressive view of the old Hanseatic City of Stralsund.
