Strong pieces - orchestral concert by the Ensemble Amadeus on 27. 07. 2025, 19:00 in St. Nikolai Stralsund. The East Saxon music ensemble will perform symphonies and concertos by Vanhall, Fasch and Telemann.
Founded in 1997 by Normann Kästner, the Ensemble Amadeus now comprises 40 musicians. Their oeuvre is set in the 18th century.
They play works by Vanhall, Fasch and Telemann.
The son of a farmer, Johann Baptist Vanhall was born in Bohemia, was extremely talented and received many sponsorships. With his skills and his concerts, he managed to buy his way out of serfdom. He played with Mozart, Haydn, Dittersdorf, string quartets and had his own music publishing house. What a way to go!
Johann Friedrich Fasch's musical background was similar to that of Telemann, who was a role model for him. His compositions for orchestra with many wind instruments, which he literally wrote for the Dresden court orchestra, deserve special mention.
Fasch was long forgotten, but the Ensemble Amadeus performs his works alongside those of Telemann.
