Concerts and music festivals in the open air

Whether classical music, world music or jazz - the musical open air summer between the Baltic Sea and the Lake District is colorful and varied.

Classical music festivals, orchestral works and concerts by solo artists take place in front of the backdrops of famous castles or even directly by the sea. Among the best-known open-air classical music events are the Schwerin Castle Festival, the Nature Sounds on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula and the Usedom Music Festival.

For jazz fans, the Ahrenshooper Jazzfest, the Eldena Jazz Evenings or "see more jazz" in Rostock offer exquisite entertainment in the fresh air. Well-known bands and up-and-coming artists perform at these events. The festivals "Rostock rockt" and "TeteRock" are more rocking. Fans of electronic music should not miss AirbeatOne in Neustadt-Glewe.

Open-air cinema and theater

But not only musical events can be experienced outdoors - especially in the summer months, open-air cinemas and theater performances on impressive natural stages are very popular. For example, on the island of Rügen the Störtebeker Festival tells of the adventures of the notorious pirate Klaus Störtebeker, on the island of Usedom the fairytale Vineta Festival takes place and in Waren there is the medieval Müritz Saga.

Even more festivals in the fresh air

Dancing, partying, having fun, creativity and action: in addition to pure music or theater festivals, northeastern Germany has a lot more to offer. These include the indie rock festival Immergut in Neustrelitz, the Fusion Festival near the Müritz, the About You Pangea Festival on the Baltic Sea in Pütnitz or the "Ein Tag am Meer" festival on Rügen. In addition to music, these open-air events also offer readings and workshops for visitors.
