Jeeps

Who has never dreamed of an unexpected inheritance that would give them a large fortune and a carefree future? In "Jeeps", this dream is in a lottery drum, because a radical inheritance reform is intended to ensure a new level of wealth justice: the inheritance of all deceased persons is collected directly by the state and redistributed fairly by lot. Then it will no longer be the chance of birth that determines educational opportunities, life plans and financial security, but solely the luck of the draw. The entire bureaucratic effort and the tricky lottery distribution will be handled by the job center of all places. A project that sounds like a potentially explosive conflict. And indeed - the young entrepreneur Silke, who has been forcibly dispossessed, joins forces with Maude, a "regular customer" of the job center who is experienced in public office. With their guns drawn, the two stand in front of the incorruptible job center employee Gabor and threaten to blow up his SUV. Gabor's supervisor Armin adds fuel to the fire with cynical comments.

With "Jeeps", successful German-language author Nora Abdel-Maksoud has created a provocatively pointed comedy in which she uses lightning-fast twists and bitter humor to deal with nothing less than the current debates about equal opportunities and distributive justice in our society.
