We often become aware of our wishes and desires during a walk by the sea, as Susanne Pohlmann did. She has expressed it in this series and would like to inspire us too.
A series of water paintings - that sounds so harmless, but what confronts us here is a churning sea, a mighty stream powerfully making its way through the landscape. Her acrylic paintings, some of which are large-format, are not naturalistic depictions of what the artist sees, but rather express the effect they have on her own feelings. Expressive and moving - these are probably the adjectives that best describe her works. Be it the roaring spray that washes around the rocks, or the stones themselves, which seem to glow from within. Rhythm and movement, perhaps also a skill from her time as a dancer, make the pictures exciting and captivate the viewer.
