A vacation diary from Usedom
We spent two weeks on Usedom – and were on the beach almost every day. Our vacation apartment was in Trassenheide, from where we usually set off straight after breakfast. Then we often stayed by the sea all day. With our new air mattresses, of course. Luna's was pink, mine was green. We used them to float on the waves. It really rocks! Or we took a running jump into the middle of the waves. That was great fun.
We also went on trips with mom and dad. And we must have been to every single ice cream parlor on Usedom. Once we went to the harbor in Karlshagen to buy fish sandwiches and we were even allowed to sit on the cutter with the fisherman for dinner. He told us that he had just caught the fish for our sandwiches that very morning.
The canoe trip was great. We paddled off from Forsthaus Damerow in Koserow. Luckily, someone from the canoe rental company was there to show us how to do it. It's not as easy as it looks. There is a small jetty at the forester's lodge, from there we set off and then we paddled really far through a large bay, the Achterwasser. That was great fun, but afterwards we were really exhausted.
The next day, Luna and I went for a short bike ride along the dyke on the Achterwasser.
Mum wanted to do some wellness at the aja Strandhotel in Bansin, and that was cool because Luna and I were also allowed to get a face mask. But I thought it was even better that we were allowed to choose what color we wanted our nails painted. Luna and I felt like real princesses as we lay on the super comfy loungers with our bathrobes and towels around our heads.
We experienced many other great things and I could have stayed on Usedom forever. But unfortunately the vacation was over far too quickly. As always!
