The special thing: In keeping with the name of the initiative, guests feel as if they are visiting friends; after all, the hosts sometimes open their private kitchens. In Lühburg Castle, for example, "game and vegetarian dishes from the grill" are offered in the summer. FerienGut Dalwitz" also invites guests to asado (South American barbecue) or Advent dinners in December.
In summer, meals are usually served outside in front of the manor house or in the castle park at a festively decorated and inviting long table. In the cooler season the palate feast takes place in atmospheric walls. The hosts have one or two anecdotes to tell.
Knut Splett-Henning from Gutshaus Rensow and Wolf-Christian Calsow from Schloss Lühburg, which is only a few kilometers away, came up with the idea for the series "Zu Tisch bei Freunden" (At the table with friends) in the absence of restaurants in the sparsely populated area. They made a virtue out of necessity and had their guests dine sometimes with one host, sometimes with the other. For the guests, this meant variety on the one hand, and on the other, they got to know another stately home during their stay. Soon other houses took up this idea, and it developed the culinary calendar ?to table with friends ?
