The Bad Kleinen egg tunnel is a pedestrian tunnel under the railroad track bed.

In 1896, a tubular tunnel was built to provide access from the water sanatorium in Bad Kleinen, which opened in 1895, to Lake Schwerin. In the vernacular it became known as the 'Egg Tunnel'.

According to legend, encounters in the Egg Tunnel guarantee happy marriages. This is said to be ensured by the echo males that dwell in the cracks and niches of the tunnel.

Today, you have a beautiful view of Lake Schwerin and the island of Liebs when you come from the direction of Bad Kleinen.

Museum of the History of the Hanseatic City of Wismar in the Schabbell

St. George Church
