One of the first Dutch mills in the Müritz region is the Gaarz mill. It was built on the lakeshore in 1805.

The small mill was still in operation until 1960, it produced last mixed feed. From 1970 it was used as a vacation object of the VEB Carl-Zeiß Jena .students rebuilt it, thereby it received its current form without cap and technology.

The Gaarzer mill is an ideal starting point for extended boat trips, fishing trips, swimming fun, cycling tours, horseback riding and nature experiences of a special kind.
