Acoustic rock music with classical instruments
With violin, cello, drums and vocals, three classically trained musicians with many years of experience have been delighting their fans throughout Europe since 2005. Initially, the boys gained a large fan base on the street with their self-composed German and English songs. Since their appearances on the Pro 7 show "Germany's next Showstars" in 2009, they have regularly filled halls in their native Saxony with up to 600 concert-goers.
Cellist Sebastian Maul and violinist Antonio Palanovic develop a captivating stage presence by playing their instruments standing up and singing at the same time. Fabian Buchenau on drums provides the driving beats which, together with the two string instruments, make up Stilbruch's unique crossover sound. The musicians describe the direction of their music as "New Classic", whereby the band uses additional guest musicians (additional string quartet, guitar, choir) to create an enormous range from rock arrangements to a monumental orchestral sound.
BIOGRAPHY
Originally founded in 2005 by 3 music students from Dresden, Stilbruch soon made a name for themselves playing street music in their native Saxony. First engagements and street music tours throughout Europe followed and encouraged the young band to intensify their musical work and hone their own sound.
After several gigs and line-up changes, the band made a detour to one of the numerous Pro 7 casting shows. This was followed by reaching the final and a European tour as DJ Bobo's support act. Many big concerts and an excessive touring life led to a return to the music and their own sound.
In the current line-up, the band succeeded in reinventing their own Stilbruch identity. Initially, the focus was on interpreting rock music on classical instruments, but the band has now returned to its strengths. The classical roots are now the starting point for a musical exploration of the genres of contemporary pop culture. The sophisticated German songs captivate with their artistically high-quality yet rocking arrangements. No longer an attempt to imitate rock music with cello and violin, but a new classical music - New Classic is the current trademark of this extraordinary band.
