On Friday, 15 August, Stralsund Zoo invites you to the State Zoo Day 2025 - a special day of action organized as part of a joint initiative of all zoological institutions in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and coordinated by the MV State Zoo Association.
Thanks to financial support from the state government, all children receive free admission on this day - an invitation to families to go on a journey of discovery together and experience the fascinating diversity of the animal kingdom.
The day starts at 09:30 with an exciting mini-guided tour including a feeding session with the polar wolves - an experience that combines closeness and knowledge. The day then continues with guided feeding sessions with chimpanzees, pygmy mice and porcupines, pelicans and zebra mongooses. Our zookeepers will tell you exciting details about the behavior, diet and special features of their charges.
From 13:00, children can look forward to another highlight: riding the zoo horse - an unforgettable experience right next to the Ackerbürgerhaus. At 2:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy the popular animal show on the festival meadow, where animal skills, humor and teamwork take center stage.
Creative minds will not miss out either - children can let their imagination run wild at the painting and craft stand and take small works of art home with them.
