Concert Accappella Quintet Schall und Rauch from Berlin
The Vilsmaier film, the Berlin Comedian Harmonists at the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm or the great successes of the Wise Guys were a long way off when the Schall & Rauch ensemble first came together in Berlin in the early 1990s to devote themselves to sophisticated a cappella singing. What began as a small gag has now become an integral part of the Berlin singing scene and enchants audiences on local cabaret stages and at private parties. Cheeky, funny and not always entirely serious, they tackle anything that can somehow be brought to the stage with five voices. The icing on the cake of a concert with Schall & Rauch is a humorous moderation that hints at many things and gives nothing away, mixed with original compositions on current and eternal topics, performed with polyphonic melodiousness and tongue-in-cheek passion. The quartet's role models are the King's Singers and the Comedian Harmonists, many of whose musical delicacies are included in the program. Five-part a cappella versions of the great Beatles hits are also an integral part of Schall & Rauch's repertoire and are humorously parodied. There are also German pop classics and evergreens from pop, swing and musicals. In the area of sacred songs, there are also classic gospels in the style of the Golden Gate Quartet. Schall & Rauch always bring the finest a cappella music, lively moderation and lots of fun!
