Mecklenburg-Schwerin

Nature-lover or cultural enthusiast, Lake Schaal or Schwerin Palace, you will be won over by the region's charms.

Enchanted by originality

The region is a paradise for nature lovers. You can explore the original beauty on foot or by bike along well-signposted paths. And there is another network of roads to Westmecklenburg: the waterways. On the rivers and lakes, water sports enthusiasts can paddle or sail in a particularly relaxing way. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserves "Schaalsee" and "Elbe River Landscape" Mecklenburg-Vorpommern offer a particularly diverse and varied flora and fauna. Beavers and otters also feel at home there and eagles circles in the sky.

Residence cities for culture lovers

Ludwigslust and Schwerin, the two former ducal residences, occupy a very special position here. A touch of nobility still pervades the air in the two cities. The state capital of Schwerin has also evolved into a much-vaunted shopping paradise, an excellent reason in itself to stroll through the lovingly restored streets. But even the smaller towns and villages offer a rich abundance of culture and history.
