The BA thesis "Free ride for pedestrians and cyclists - a concept for traffic calming in Neubrandenburg's city center" is presented. The contents of the final thesis of the Landscape Architecture (Bachelor) course at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences will be presented.
A model of the processing area and posters will be on display. There will also be an opportunity to gather information and exchange ideas in discussion groups.
What makes a city worth living in?
With the reconstruction of Neubrandenburg after the Second World War, the city center was overdeveloped in terms of traffic and even today the volume of traffic in the city center is very high. But to what extent does this urban space meet our current and future requirements for a liveable city? Especially when solutions are needed to make the consequences of climate change more bearable for people. Do we need a traffic-friendly city or do we need new concepts of urban living that take all forms of transportation into account?
The "Free ride for pedestrians and cyclists" concept addresses these questions and offers proposed solutions that reorganize the urban planning situation in Neubrandenburg's city centre in favour of pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users and encourage residents to spend time in public spaces.
