Traveling exhibition "Beautiful Wildlife"
The treasure coast between Rostock and Rügen is a center of biodiversity in Germany. Rustic shores, wild forests and secluded river valleys with impressive landscapes beckon here. These are habitats that are rarely found in Central Europe. This is why the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation has selected the region as a biodiversity hotspot. In order to maintain and develop these natural treasures, the joint project Networked Diversity on the Treasure Coast is being funded by the Federal Biological Diversity Program from 2021-2026.
As part of this project, the Baltic Sea Foundation sent amateur photographers on a search for the "beautiful wild ones" in the 2024 photo competition. 64 residents of the region and vacation guests submitted more than 600 photos between May and November. Nine winning images were selected from these, which are shown in large format in the small exhibition.
