Exhibition

The exhibition focuses on the work of filmmaker Jürgen Heiter, which combines film, visual art and literature. As a living archive, the show is being created in collaboration with the interdisciplinary artist Cony Theis and former former scholarship holders of the Künstlerhaus Lukas.

Julia) and was already posed by André Bazin in the 1950s. Film is art of and from the present and the future, it is different from all other arts. Perhaps music comes closest to it in its now. As a contemporary art, film cannot stop moving. It is a motion picture, spatiotemporal, committed to expressing processes in time and space. Film is thus perception, understanding, reason, spirit in motion - the future of itself. Film is a conclusion and always asks for the next moment. The disappointment that a movie ends, the strangeness that strikes you when you leave the cinema (as if reality were like film), arises from the absence of this next moment. Because real life does not know it in this form. It eludes the experience of people consciously - i.e. freely - making their story. This exhibition focuses on the work of award-winning filmmaker Jürgen Heiter, who combines film, visual art and literature in his work. The exhibition presents itself as a living archive and combines various elements - films, objects, the installation of a movie theater for one person and more - through the collaboration with the interdisciplinary artist and curator Cony Theis and former scholarship holders of the Künstlerhaus Lukas. The archive: Going to the archive when you need tools to investigate reality, like going to the tool shed to get a shovel. To dig, dig around, bury, excavate. The archive/history is therefore not a place of storage, but a place of production. Just as history is to be understood backwards and forwards, a movement that produces the present, that wafer-thin slice in front of/in the eye... (Jürgen Heiter)
