Anika Hutschreuther will let her passion for guitar music resound in the Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn for the International Guitar Festival on August 24.
Everything can be found in the music. Deep abysses, highest peaks. Worlds in between. Clear forms and room for imagination. Monotones and polyphony. Rigor and playfulness.
It is pure passion, curiosity and fun to go on a search and to reflect in one's own interpretation what might have motivated a composer - or to give space to one's own feelings, to form images and worlds that have arisen and then to work them out with crystal clarity until the notes sparkle and sound and emotion are combined with each other in the most beautiful way.
Kassel-based guitarist Anika Hutschreuther studied at the conservatories in Stuttgart, Kassel (Music Academy) and Hamburg, where she graduated with honors in 2010.
During her studies she was sponsored by the Markelstiftung. In 2006, she won first prize at the Concours d ́Ufam in Paris, third prize at the competition
"Kitarika" in Koper, Slovenia and was a semi-finalist at the Karl Scheit Competition in Vienna. In May 2010, she was awarded the Hermann and Milena Ebel Prize as an outstanding young musician.
Anika Hutschreuther plays classical and baroque guitar at the highest level and performs as a soloist and chamber musician at home and abroad.
In her concert "SüdSüdWest", Hutschreuther performs compositions that seem typical of the respective country. Dionisio Aguado, Joaquín Rodrigo and Francisco Tárrega offer the fire and passion that we expect from Spanish music. Vincenzo Galilei from Italy, father of Galileo Galilei, composed a playful saltarello and Astor Piazzolla, a grand master of Argentinean tango, is represented. The program is rounded off with baroque and jazzy sounds.
