Surf spots

After you have worked your way through the typical Baltic Sea shorebreak in Juliusruh, beautiful waves will put a big smile on your face. With sideshore from the northeast and southeast, you surf parallel to the kilometer-long sandy beach.

The Schaabe is a narrow strip of land between the two peninsulas Wittow and Jasmund. A dreamlike, approx. 8 km long Baltic Sea beach stretches along there. It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Rügen and offers you a lot of vacation flair. In the summer months it is therefore an attractive attraction especially for bathers. These are distributed over the entire length of the beach and so it only gets a little crowded from time to time. It is not too far into the water, but the standing area runs along the entire length of the beach. However, you should be prepared for an annoying shorebreak. But once you are out there, surfers will have a lot of fun. A spotnahe accommodation you will find in Drewolke, north of the bay. There is a camping site and even a small kite store. The spot is suitable for wind directions from NE to SE.

Facilities:

  • Parking facilities < 250 m away, fee required.

Detailed information about the spot Schaabe (Juliusruh) can be found on the linked website of www.surflocal.de. There you can also find 3D panoramic photos of the spot, contact the locals or arrange to surf together with friends.
