Monuments and Sights

The Baltic resort of Insel Poel can be reached via a bridge causeway that crosses the strait called "Breitling".

In 1760 the embankment to the mainland was filled up, part of the embankment were two bridges which were raised to the night. Previously, the island of Poel was only accessible by ferry to Fährdorf, the name Fährdorf was named after its function as the location of the ferryman. Once on the island of Poel, a picture-book landscape with sandy beaches, cliffs, salt marshes and a bird paradise awaits you.

Museum of the History of the Hanseatic City of Wismar in the Schabbell

St. George Church

For this purpose, the municipality has set up a surfing zone from May 1 to September 15. The protected location makes the Wohlenberger Wiek a flawless shallow water playground with wind from west to northeast.

Surfspot Pepelow

The spot at the Salzhaff offers shallow water deluxe! You can park in front of or on the campsite. Day tickets are available at the reception. The Salzhaff is very shallow and the standing area is therefore extremely large. Especially windsurfers have to walk further out at low tide so that the fin doesn't involuntarily become an anchor. Pepelow shows its best side with southwest to north.
