Here in Golchen, not only private individuals but also numerous companies that feel connected to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have committed themselves to planting a new climate forest. Since 2009, new trees have been growing here on 1.6 hectares in a mixed forest.

How to find the climate forest in Golchen
The reforestation area is located approx. 30 km north of Neubrandenburg. The best way to reach it is via the BAB 20, Anklam junction. From there, please take the B 96 towards Altentreptow/Neubrandenburg. After about 3 km, turn right into the village of Golchen and follow the "Klimawald" sign. There is a parking lot at the meeting place about 1 km away. From there it is about 400 m on foot to the reforestation area.

Forest shares for our climate forests
Since 2007, over 100 hectares of new, climate change-adapted forest have been planted at 19 different locations in all parts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The reforestation of these additional areas was financed by "forest shares" from holidaymakers, residents and businesses. During planting campaigns for our climate forests, guests can talk to forestry experts and learn exciting details about the forest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
