Ivenack has a lot to offer: ancient giant oaks, one of which is said to be Germany's oldest; a climbing excursion 20 meters up into the treetops, game in between since the Baroque era, and a pretty red and white pavilion that would make an excellent café with a roof terrace.

We recommend a walk through a green tunnel along the lake between the chateau, the teahouse and the orangery with a stop in the chateau church. Here you can calmly discover the allegories of the "little garden of paradise" on the paintings of the organ gallery opposite the rococo lodge.

Ivenack Castle

The older, middle part of the castle dates back to the 16th century - the monastery building. A first extension took place in 1709 and after passing to the Imperial Counts v. Plessen around 1750. The semicircular stables, the orangery, the tea house and the church also date from this period. Around 1810, the castle was again extended by two wings. Since 2016, it has been renovated in accordance with the preservation order. The 1000-year-old Ivenack oaks in the former animal park are Germany's first national natural monument.
