Off into the floods
With more than 2,000 km of coastline and more than 2,000 lakes, the vacation state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is famous for its unique water landscapes that attract visitors eager to experience its white beaches. Bathers get their money’s worth when swimming in salty sea water and as they enjoy the fine sandy beaches in front of rugged cliffs. Many beaches along the Baltic coast and on the islands have a particularly shallow water entrance and are fairly safe even for the inexperienced beginners. Whether it's building sand castles, romping around or playing ball - a good mood comes up easily on a beach vacation in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. And if the weather doesn't suit to go sunbathing, you can go on a treasure hunt in rubber boots and a raincoat to find amber, shells or hagstones along the waterline.
