"World Cleanup Day, the world's largest bottom-up citizens' movement to clean up pollution and litter, has now found a permanent place in the United Nations calendar. From now on, this important day will be celebrated every year on September 20. On this day, millions of participants from over 190 countries get involved in cleaning up streets, parks, beaches, forests, rivers, shores and oceans from carelessly discarded waste. Millions of cleanup campaigns will take place around the world during the "Cleanup Month" of September as part of World Cleanup Day.
