In the summer vacation workshop at the MEERESMUSEUM, children learn about the work of taxidermists and exhibition designers - with exciting exhibits and hands-on activities.
Fascinating exhibits await curious explorers at the MEERESMUSEUM - many of which come from the museum's own taxidermy department: from polar bears and turtles to rays.
In the workshop, participants explore selected objects directly in the exhibition and then slip into the role of taxidermists and exhibition designers themselves. They learn about different techniques when dissecting a feeding squid and making small casts: What is the difference between dermoplasty and skeletal preparations? And how do the specimens end up in the display cases?
Duration: 180 minutes plus break
Price: €9 per person (plus admission)
Age recommendation: The workshop is aimed exclusively at children aged 10 to 14.
