Lecture by Immanuel Schoene, PhD student at the Historical Institute in Potsdam
In his work, the speaker deals with the topic of "Violence against images and people in the early years of the Reformation (1521-1525)". The fact that the Reformation was not only reflected in tracts, pamphlets or religious discussions is obvious when looking at the respective events on the ground. In churches, on market squares or in the streets, there were quite a few cases of tangible struggles for the Gospel. The lecture will shed light on this rebellious side of the early years of the Reformation beyond the Stralsund church break.
