Through darkness to light: this motto of Dmitri Shostakovich's life, the 50th anniversary of his death this year, is the focus of this concert. Two of Shostakovich's string quartets and the Cavatina from L. v. Beethoven's String Quartet op. 130 reflect the life of one of the most impressive artistic personalities of the 20th century.
