Free at last! Alice (Esther Gemsch) and Peter (Stefan Kurt) are celebrating their retirement and looking forward to the new phase of their lives. On a cruise in the Mediterranean - a gift from the children - they want to get closer again as a couple, at least that's Alice's plan. But when Peter takes his recently widowed friend Heinz (Ueli Jäggi) on the trip without being asked, the hoped-for togetherness comes to an end.
and long pent-up marital problems come to light. After a shore leave in Marseille, Alice decides not to return on board and takes some time out for herself. As they go their separate ways, they not only find themselves, but also a new way to spend their golden years.
