Clemens Tremmel's landscapes initially appear in the style of historical, precise and large-scale painting, together with their symbolism as a place of longing.
Vernissage: Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 5 pm with musical accompaniment by Friedrich Bassarak, accordionist.
The complex Romantic world order as universal poetry is mastered by Tremmel, then painfully and unerringly destroyed by ruthless blank spaces. By sawing out, fading over, painting over and obscuring parts of the picture, he erases the pathetic panorama and visually points out deficits.
The process of passing and new creation is halted in the works in the moment of tension of the standstill before the break. Titles such as "Apparition", "Outburst", "Illumination", "Redemption" and "Discharge" testify to the breathing space before the moment of exaggeration and dissolution. Clemens Tremmel has created apt pictorial worlds for the standstill beforehand. The artist lives and works in Leipzig.
