Songs of the 20s
Reglindis Rauca is a theater actress and singer. From an early age, she was enthusiastic about the cheeky and thoughtful verses and songs of Brecht/Weill, Kurt Tucholsky and Friedrich Hollaender, some of which she interprets here.
Christian Pross is a doctor and musician who has played the piano and guitar since his youth, later adding the saxophone as a classical jazz instrument.
The duo has been playing together for several years and performs in public. In their professional careers, both musicians have also dealt with Jewish history, Reglindis Rauca as a writer, Christian Pross as a scientific author, which inspired them to write songs in Yiddish, some of which can be heard here.
The restored Liepen organ will also play some choral variations.
Loud and quiet, cheeky and thoughtful, lyrical and dramatic - a song to Liepen and the world.
