Stern's documentary is more than just a concert recording in which one set follows the next. In addition to the performances of the individual artists, some of the final work by the craftsmen on the stage and the sound checks before the show, the camera also captures the general surroundings, but above all the goings-on in the small community of Newport, where the qualifications for the "Americas Cup" sailing regatta are taking place at the same time. The streets are correspondingly crowded, full of day-trippers wanting to join one of the two events. While the last sounds of Chuck Berry can still be heard or Anita O'Day sings a playfully cheerful interpretation of a song, the picture changes to a group of young people who have made themselves comfortable in a house and on the flat roof, dancing exuberantly and enjoying this summer, to which the artists are just providing the right soundtrack.
On this evening, we await our guests from 20:30 with the (free) summer drink Cinema Royale. Delicious grilled sausages will also be on offer.
