Schmarsow Castle in the Peene & Tollensetal region opens on Sunday, 22.6.2025 for the MidsummerRemise from 11 am
Joachim Philipp von Parsenow had this extraordinary building erected at the end of the 17th century, when the region was still scarred by the Thirty Years' War. Schmarsow Castle is one of the oldest manor houses in the region and looks very stately.

The current owners, the Ruinen-Fabich family, have family ties to Ida Agnise von Eickstedt, the wife of the owner, and Johan de Witt, councillor of Holland and West Friesland, Christoph Bernhard von Galen's opponent in the war. They offer guided tours, homemade apple juice and cake. The park with its enchanted garden and peacocks invites you to linger.
