Children's comic reading | for families with children aged 6 and over
Oops, the whole of Moominvalley has turned into a huge jungle overnight! I wonder if it has something to do with the tropical seeds that Moominmama has sown? The swamp is a mangrove thicket and wild animals roam through the undergrowth. Only the lord of the jungle can help: Moomin!
The Finnish-Swedish author Tove Jansson has created a timeless classic with her Moomin roles. In addition to the well-known, richly illustrated children's books, she also had her characters appear in a comic series that was conceived and drawn for an English newspaper in the 1950s. Matthias Wieland, born in 1969, is a freelance editor and translator, presenter and comic (pre-)reader. After studying in Hildesheim, he worked for Dino Verlag in Stuttgart, then returned to Hanover and more by chance became a freelance editor and translator ("Simpsons", "Peanuts", "Calvin and Hobbes", "Moomins", etc.), with occasional forays into the world of the stage. For some years now, he has been lending his voice(s) to comic characters in public, in comic readings with music, for young and old.
