creative and innovative chamber music
Malte Vief (guitars) & Thomas Fleck (violin)
With an astonishing web of counterpoint, classical forms, baroque harmonies, pop melodies and the drive of rock music, MALTE VIEF (guitars) and THOMAS FLECK (violin) take their listeners on an emotional journey.
Their classical roots are the breeding ground for an undefined cross-style music.
The new concert program "Kammer" is chamber music created over the last 10 years that thrives on encounters and has emerged from them. Experiences are translated into the language of music.
In the concert you will hear personal soundscapes that tell stories, that touch and resonate.
With Thomas Fleck and Malte Vief, Malte Vief's KAMMER is precision work.
Reflective, creative and once again incredibly innovative, with beautifully touching and surprising melodies and nuances, the sky is brought down to earth instead of being flown away from it.
Malte Vief was initially trained as a guitarist in Bremen and Hamburg; this basic classical training was followed by studies in the guitar class led by Thomas Fellow at the Hochschule Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, where he also taught himself during his student days. Malte has received numerous international awards as a composer and guitarist.
His latest album "Kammer III", like its predecessor "Kammer II", was nominated for the "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik". 2023 also received a double nomination for the "Opus Klassik".
Thomas Fleck studied in Augsburg, Freiburg, Basel and London. He has been principal 2nd violin in the MDR Symphony Orchestra since 1995. As a chamber music partner he has played with Hille Perl, Maurice Steger, Naoki Kitaya, Michael Schönheit, Wolfgang Katschner, Chick Korea, Boris Pergamentschikow, Carolin Widmann and others. Numerous radio recordings reflect the wide stylistic range of Thomas Fleck's work.
