Reading with expert discussion.
LGBTI* in Nursing and Medicine" was recently published, the first book in Germany to take a comprehensive and in-depth look at the situation of queer people in the healthcare sector. Queer people often experience prejudice, rejection and discrimination in healthcare institutions. There are many reasons for this. With the event "LGBTI* in care and medicine - do we need special care concepts for queer people?" on June 12 at 6.30 pm in the Neubrandenburg Regional Library, we would like to show what special features and recommendations for action exist for queer people in the field of care. The authors Dr. Michael Nürnberg and Volker Wierz will present their book and talk to the guests. Prof. Dr. Stefan Schmidt from Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences will also talk about whether and how the topic can be dealt with now and in the future. He will talk about care concepts and the associated challenges. The evening will be moderated by André Hesse-Witt, Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. The event is sponsored by the Landesverband Soziokultur MV e. V. and the Ministry of Science, Culture, Regional and European Affairs MV.
