Simone Butz lives and works in the Feldberg lake district. She has always been intensively involved with landscape painting. After working for many years as a teacher at a school in Berlin-Karlshorst, she now works as a freelance artist and painter in her own studio in Koldenhof.
Her works reflect her great love of nature. She uses nature both as inspiration and as a motif to explore the almost infinite variety of colors in their constant change under all conceivable atmospheric conditions. For Simone Butz, the abundance of shapes, patterns and textures is a constant temptation and a demanding challenge at the same time. At the same time, it is important to her to capture on canvas the feeling of freedom that she herself experiences in space and in the vastness of the landscapes.
The exhibition invites you to take a walk through the variety of landscapes in the Feldberg lake district and its immediate surroundings, to experience moments of pause and lingering. Simone Butz is showing a number of large-format paintings, as well as many plein air works created directly in nature.
We cordially invite you to the vernissage on June 20, 2025 at 7 pm. The program will be musically framed by Sascha Luis Butz, classical guitar.
