Chamber concert

In this chamber music project, the Swiss cellist Estelle Revaz has entered into a passionate collaboration with the French pianist Anaïs Crestin. The two present very lively works that are inspired by very different traditional cultures and enter into a dialog with each other here. The sparkling Spanish folklore opens the fire of passions - seduction, betrayal, tender love - with the Siete canciones populares españolas by de Falla. With Pohádka (a fairy tale) by Leoš Janáček, we then enter the fairy-tale world of Czech legends - a world full of wonders and phantasms. Afterwards, Schumann whispers stories without words to us with the Five Pieces in Folk Tone, some of them very intimate pieces. The centerpiece of the evening is the sonata by the Argentinian composer Ginastera, who takes us on a ride through the pampas, past the campfires of the gauchos. The brilliant finale is Popper's Hungarian Rhapsody, which, with its gypsy themes and virtuosity, conjures up images of rural violinists improvising by the fire and the dancers whirling from feast to feast.

Estelle Revaz and Anaïs Crestin met in 2012 at the International Festival of Mendoza in Argentina. Their artistic paths through the French and German schools naturally led to a musical and human match. Since then, they have regularly performed together in South America.

Estelle Revaz has appeared on Radio France, RTBF, Deutschlandfunk, WDR3 and Radio Télévision Suisse. Recently, Estelle Revaz has hosted 5 programs Estelle et le violoncelle on Swiss radio, presenting 5 themes : The sound of the cello, The technique of the cello at the service of expression, Interpretation through artistic choice, The cello, a storyteller and The magic of inspiration through cello concertos.

After her beginnings in Switzerland, she trained in France at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris under Jérôme Pernoo and in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under Maria Kliegel.

Since 2015, Estelle Revaz has been a member of the "Forum des 100": 100 personalities who represent the future of Switzerland.

Estelle Revaz currently plays a cello by G. Grancino (1679) and a bow by J. Eury (1825). Both were made available to her by generous Swiss patrons.

Anaïs Crestin performs regularly in Europe and South America. In Argentina, where she has lived since 2008, she has performed at the Teatro Colon, the CCK, the Usina del arte, the Ushuaia Festival, the Mozarteum concerts, the Teatro de La Plata, the Teatro de Neuquén and the Sala de la Calafate opposite the famous Perito Moreno ice cream parlor, with artists such as Sophie Klussmann, Ophélie Gaillard, Claude Delangle, Julien Szulman, Luis Rossi, Estelle Revaz and the "Cuarteto Gianneo", which has won the first prize for best chamber music ensemble in Argentina three times.

Her concert repertoire ranges from Mozart's piano concertos to Argentinian works such as Carlos Guastavino's "Romanza de Santa Fe" and a selection of tangos to contemporary works. In 2018, Anais Crestin will perform Nadia Boulanger's Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra as the first South American premiere with the Salta Symphony Orchestra under Noam Zur. Repeats of this concert are planned for 2019.

In 2017, she recorded "Bajo templado" with Sebastián Tozzolla, solo clarinettist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Colón, on the "Pulso 70" label. This recording is the first of certain works for bass clarinet and piano such as the five miniatures by Sláva Vorlová or the sonata by Marc Eychenne. Anaïs Crestin received her training in France and Germany at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold with the excellent concert pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.

She has won numerous prizes such as the first medal at the Concours de piano de Brest and first prize at the Concours Ginastera.

Anaïs Crestin holds a chair at the UNA (Universidad de las Artes) and at the Piazzolla Conservatory in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
