Fittingly, the Hans Christian Andersen Year 2025 is all about "fairy tales and the sea". Well-known and exciting stories will be staged in classic form or reimagined and brought to the stage with a lot of love.
But local, maritime themes will also find their place again. In addition to the revival of the highly acclaimed homage to Binz visionary and master builder Ulrich Müther, "Binzer Ge(h)schichten" is a musical drama tour that tells the history and stories of the seaside resort through the ages in an exciting and entertaining way.

Who was Ulrich Müther? What remains of him and his artistic legacy? Even though he is no longer around, his futuristic buildings, the famous hypar shells, still bear witness to his epochal vision and creative radiance, which made his work known far beyond the borders of his home town and the GDR and still inspire today.
This homage approaches his work and intentions: sometimes anecdotally, sometimes factually, sensually and always full of verve, like Müther's buildings themselves. But it is also the story of a master builder caught between two systems, about the art of engineering that transcends borders.
The result is a play that is more than just history: an evening with depth, music and the magic of courage and new beginnings.
