Gourmet cuisine to accompany nature film highlights
Food, enjoyment and nature are the focus of the Culinary Nature FilmCinema. As a member of the ländlichfein initiative, the chefs at Hotel Haferland present small, organically produced delicacies from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The nature and environmental films shown after the menu are mostly award-winning and show the beauty of the planet, but also how fragile life on earth is. Enjoy this experience for all the senses and a foretaste of the 21st Darßer NaturfilmFestival from 29.09. to 5.10.2025.
Film "The North Drift - Plastic in streams"
A German beer bottle washed up on an island in the Lofoten Islands in the Arctic Ocean that is inaccessible on foot. Where did it come from? Was it really from Germany? Or was it a thirsty tourist who, after consuming the bottle with relish, disposed of it in the ocean? Passionately in love with Norway's beautiful landscapes, filmmaker Steffen Krones has not let go of this topic, even back in his home town of Dresden. Can waste really travel that far? The film takes us on a scientific adventure down the Elbe, across the North Sea to Norway and shows us that we are all part of the cycle and that each and every one of us has the power to make a difference.
