On June 21, 2025, the Figural Choir Bonn will be a guest at the Ludwigslust Palace Concerts: the chamber choir will perform secular choral music from six centuries under the title "Garden Songs" at a concert in the Ludwigslust City Church at 6 pm.
The Figural Choir Bonn with its artistic director Markus Michael is going on a concert tour to Ludwigslust and the surrounding area with this year's program "Garden Songs". The chamber choir will perform works from six centuries, in which the spring awakening of nature and the cycle of life are expressed in a sonorous way.
The program includes choral works for four to eight voices by Benjamin Britten, Eriks Esenvalds, Clément Janequin, Ann Sheppard Mounsey, Ludvig Norman, Hubert Parry, Siegfried Reda, Heinrich Schütz, Dorothee Schabert and Frank Tichely. "The garden songs are reminiscent of paradise, for example a castle park," says Markus Michael, "but they also address the transience of every blossom and the role of man in the eternal cycle of withering and new birth." The Figural Choir Bonn will also be performing in Aumühle and Lüneburg during this year's concert tour.
The Figural Choir Bonn was founded in 1982 and has around 35 singers. It has made a name for itself primarily by performing rarely heard works and unusual programs. Further information can be found at www.figuralchor-bonn.de.
The concert in the Ludwigsluster Stadtkirche begins on June 21, 2025 at 6 pm, admission is from 5:30 pm. Tickets at a price of 20 euros are available at the box office and at the Ludwigsluster Stadtinformation.
