Get to know the castle of the Pomeranian Dukes from the outside and inside!
For the village and harvest festival in Ludwigsburg on Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Förderverein is offering a guided tour of the castle of the Pomeranian Dukes. The approximately one-hour tour starts in the castle courtyard at the granary building, at the entrance to the photo exhibition. Admission is free, registration is not required.
Built in 1592 by order of Ernst Ludwig, Duke of Pomerania-Wolgast, Ludwigsburg Castle became an original setting for "North German Romanticism" at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. This is where the painter Friedrich August von Klinkowström was born, where he spent his childhood and youth, where he was artistically active and where he met his painter friend Philipp Otto Runge from Wolgast.
By the way: The association will also be present at the village and harvest festival on August 24, 2024 on the festival meadow in front of the complex from 3 p.m. with a stand of the show garden!
