Seebühne Hiddensee / A puppet theater play by Karl Huck and Holger Teschke
For children aged 10 and over and for adults
Dresden, November 1901: In the depot of the Saxon Picture Gallery, puppeteer Emil Geisselbrecht, who has been banned from performing for lèse majesté, has fallen in love with the forgotten paintings of Caspar David Friedrich, which have been banned from exhibitions. He discovers letters and diaries of the painter among the archive files. The artistic closeness and affinity he feels gives rise to the desire to stage Caspar David Friedrich's life as a dramatic puppet show. However, the director of the museum insists that the paintings be published. There is little time for the puppeteer to complete his play; a Norwegian art historian is searching for the paintings.
