Michael Schütz (Berlin) takes the audience into the world of popular hits from pop, rock and film music - this is great cinema! Familiar melodies awaken memories, past emotions are revived: first love, a trip to a distant country or fellowship with friends - the listeners experience the church as a space for their own soul. Dancing Queen and We Are The Champions invite you to sing along inwardly, Imagine by John Lennon refers to the hope of human existence, and the atmosphere of Harry Potter or James Bond brings heroes back to life. Beatles, Pirates of the Caribbean, Music Was My First Love: epochal highlights on the organ. The program is suitable for young and old, organ lovers and culture enthusiasts, Christians and people from outside the church.
Michael Schütz is the representative for popular music of the Protestant Church in Berlin-Brandenburg. He teaches popular music at the Berlin University of the Arts and is a published composer. His concert activities have taken him throughout Germany, to various European countries as well as to Israel and the USA, including Carnegie Hall in New York.
