Special exhibition at the Waren (Müritz) Town History Museum
The team at the Kreismusikschule Müritz launched its retrospective on the occasion of its 70th birthday with a public appeal. They were looking for all kinds of contemporary testimonies - memories, photos, old concert programs ... In addition, documents from the archives of the City History Museum were examined and conversations were held with former teachers and students who brought the old days back to life.
The diverse material has resulted in an exhibition that tells the story of a rich everyday life at the music school over seven decades.
How did it all begin? Who taught and where did they teach before the music school moved to its current location in Strelitzer Straße? Which instruments could and can be learned? Are there memories of special experiences and highlights? What challenges did the fall of communism bring and how were they overcome? What became of former pupils and how do they remember their time at the music school?
The chronicle of the district music school, whose mission statement is: "Our music school is a music school", comes to life on thirteen panels illustrated with many pictures and press reports.
