Momo by Michael Ende in a new version by the ensemble Vida
On Friday, 19.09.2025, at 7 pm, Ensemble Vida will perform for the second time in the Brigitte Feldtmann Hall of the Schwerin Conservatory.
Michael Ende's story about Momo and the gray gentlemen who steal people's time is more relevant than ever on its 50th anniversary. Together with the audience, Ensemble Vida rediscovers the story and draws connections to children's current emotional worlds. "There are sometimes special moments in the course of the world when it turns out that all things and beings, right up to the most distant stars, interact in a very unique way, so that something can happen that would never have been possible before or since," says Master Hora in the novel Momo.
Between selected lines from Michael Ende's work and music by composer Peter Leipold, guests listen to the sound and silence within themselves. The music is the constant companion, carrying everyone through time like a flying carpet. Slowness might be the only thing that helps in the end in a world where everything revolves around efficiency, time and money. The most important thing is the voice of the children, which adults often ignore.
Jana Kühn (speaker), Maria Meures-Leipold (violin), Peter Leipold (piano), Marcus Sundermeyer (cello) and Claudia Meures (saxophone), who taught for some time at the Schwerin Conservatory, explore the question of what time means in their program and consider how adults can be persuaded to listen. Admission costs 12 euros, concessions 8 euros. Tickets can be reserved by emailing Ms. Brandt at jbrandt@schwerin.de from 01.09.2025.
