Saltwater fish - Unique variety at coast and Bodden
Endless wide beaches, dense reed belts and quiet bays promise fishing pleasure at the highest level. And under the surface of the water you can find almost everything with bones.
On the Baltic Sea, the fishing year begins in February - when the water is ice-free - with the stalking of sea trout. From March onwards, the herring come to the coast in huge shoals to spawn. Even inexperienced anglers pull them out of the cold waters in rows. This is also the peak season for salmon trolling. In April, angling for garfish begins on the beaches, piers and jetties. Flatfish are coveted prey in May. From May, the two-month pike protection period ends in the Bodden waters - the hunting season for the really big fish is then opened.
