Fascination DDR two-wheeler - on 300m² exhibition space two-wheeler fans can examine a variety of sports and racing machines and special vehicles.

The museum of the Jürgenstorfer Oldtimerclub e.V. opened the two-wheeler museum in the "Radhaus" of Jürgenstorf on 29.1.2007. On an exhibition area of more than 300 m² the visitor is presented with 110 two-wheelers of various types, which were produced in the post-war period until the end of the GDR. These include brands such as MZ, SIMSON, JAWA, Panonia, IWL and TROLL. In the meantime, all types of 50 cc two-wheelers ever produced in the Suhl vehicle and equipment factory from 1955 to the end of the GDR in 1990 can be found in this stock. This is a proud 63 different models. Starting with a SR1 from the first month of production with chassis no. 324 up to the last models of SR50, S51, S70 and SR80. The oldtimer club thus has the most complete Simson collection in the world, which is proudly presented in Jürgenstorf.

The museum building also houses the "Radhaus" restaurant and four guest rooms.

 

Opening hours museum:

May to September: Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00
October to April: Saturday from 11:00 to 16:00

Individual opening hours are possible by telephone arrangement.

Liepen moated castle

Ivenack Castle

The older, middle part of the castle dates back to the 16th century - the monastery building. A first extension took place in 1709 and after passing to the Imperial Counts v. Plessen around 1750. The semicircular stables, the orangery, the tea house and the church also date from this period. Around 1810, the castle was again extended by two wings. Since 2016, it has been renovated in accordance with the preservation order. The 1000-year-old Ivenack oaks in the former animal park are Germany's first national natural monument.

Kummerow Castle
