A landscape to enjoy! Wide-ranging views of rolling hills, fields, forests, extensive lowlands, lakes and small villages present themselves to the observer time and again. The calls of returning cranes, carpets of flowers in the forests, sweeping views over bright yellow rapeseed fields, flocks of birds resting in the fall, gnarled oaks with bizarre branches reaching into the winter sky and much more make a visit an experience at any time of year. You will feel at home here. Come and enjoy this unique landscape! You are very welcome!
The Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow Nature Park (NP MSK) is characterized by two lakes that are only just above sea level, the shallow Lake Malchin and the channel-like Lake Kummerow. These two large lakes are embedded in Mecklenburg Switzerland. It consists of chains of hills more than 100 meters high - so-called upthrust moraines - and lowlands also formed during the Ice Age. Due to the relief and the open landscape, visitors are constantly offered impressive views, e.g. in Vollrathsruhe, on the Röthelberg or at various vantage points on Lake Kummerow.
For guests from near and far, the nature park offers a variety of ways to experience the landscape. Old, enchanted country paths to church ruins and manor houses, guided or individual canoe tours, discoveries on your own or guided tours with the nature park ranger or trained landscape guides, excursions with a spotting scope and ArtenApp or tranquil bike tours with a picnic basket: everything is possible and makes you want to come back. And you'll want to keep coming back over the years, as many cultural events such as the Midsummer Remise, the Moor Theater or the Schlösserherbst offer something new and surprising every year.
