"The place where the soul grows wings". The ideal place for all people who love the good and fine life in the countryside. A paradise for horses and riders.

Schlitz Castle is a paradise for riding and hunting. Horse and rider, rifles and hunters - they have been part of Schlitz Castle from the very beginning. In the past as well as today, the wide and varied landscape surrounding the stately home in the heart of Mecklenburg Switzerland invites to extended rides and hearty hunting experiences. The bridle paths are many hundreds of kilometers long. No prohibition sign far and wide. There are various cross-country routes with distances of up to 30 km on forest, sand and field paths. On the way there are natural jumps, gravel caves and water. Around the riding routes you will find possibilities for eating and drinking, as well as hiking rest stops for horse & rider. Various cross-country routes are available in the private landscape park. At the same time you can be active in the terrain and in the territory. There are 35 guest horse stalls (dimensions: 12-14 sqm and bedding) and 2 guest horse pastures waiting for the guest horses in the historic Marstall. Feed is provided after consultation with our stable manager. Dogs stay overnight "at foot" in their master's room.

Riding without limits. Schlitz Castle is still an insider tip among riders and friends of polo. But those who have once galloped through the 180-hectare castle park and looked out on hilltops, for ever new destinations, return again. "There are many repeat visitors who are infected by the enthusiasm for this vast land," says castle owner Armin Hoeck. The Marstall, built in 1848, has been lovingly renovated for guests' horses. Outside the door, shiny black Friesians graze. Hardly anyone can escape the fascination when these majestic animals are harnessed. If you want, you can also learn to drive a carriage or watch or play in the polo tournaments that regularly take place nearby.

Hunt as you please. The private hunting ground of Schlitz Castle covers about 122 hectares. The castle owners are happy to share it with their guests and organize the desired individual shooting of roe deer, red deer and fallow deer. Wild boar is present all year round. In the surrounding forestry offices and well-kept private hunts, another 1000 hectares of first-class hunting grounds are available. Autumn is the time for driven hunts. Also private driven hunts as well as driven hunts in the circle of friends are realized on request of the guests. The traditional drag hunts with the lively beagle or foxhound packs are especially popular for hunting on horseback. The stylishly organized Castle Hunting Days in October are undoubtedly one of the highlights of the year.
